There are things that you’re unaware that you know. So maybe you know, you should be doing something differently. Or maybe there’s a resource or a tool that can help that just not coming to mind when you need it.
And then, worst of all, there are things that you’re unaware (this box here) that you don’t know.
And most people don’t think about this very much, or even look for what they’re missing.
Now, when it comes to weight loss, imagine if you were aware of everything. You’re all seeing, all knowing, super human being. and you have all the answers.
Are you ever going to struggle to stay lean?
Probably not, right?
But, if you think you have all the answers, you’re probably not going to get started.
And you’re going to struggle to get started.
Or you’re going to think that you’ve tried everything when and honestly, you know, the real situation is you haven’t, there’s more to be done.
So pretty much every single client I’ve ever had has come to me like Adam.
So this is Adam talking to me after a wild success. And what he said about the beginning, “I was a little bit pompous, and thought I already knew enough, even though I didn’t.”
So Adam, like every one of my clients realized that they were gaps in their knowledge.
And not just their knowledge. Knowledge is fine. That’s what you know, experts provide but then there’s self awareness, because of knowledge is power.
What is self knowledge?
Its power as well. Except its power that’s extremely relevant to you.
And guess what? Nobody can give you self knowledge, except for you.
But other people like me, can help you find it.
And when you do, the answer sometimes hits you like a brick to the head. Right?
So would you like to know the number one thing that’s holding you back more than anything else right now such that if you remove that one thing, everything you did would become quicker and easier and more effective?
It starts with awareness.
So let’s check in with where you’re at right now to see if you have the tools in your kit already.
So when it comes to knowledge, we’re all doing pretty good in the things that we already know. So let’s put a green in that box.
The question is, when the media, the things we don’t know. And that we’re aware, we don’t know…
If somebody makes a claim, “The reason you’re overweight is because of an unhealthy gut biome,” or “because your blood is toxic and you need to do a detox” or “because this miracle supplement works” or “because this fat shaking belt is going to do this, that and the other thing…”
Do you have a way to quickly and easily verify those claims?
If the answer is yes, great, we’re going to color that in green.
And if the answer is no,
we’re going to color that in red.
So aware, unaware… so we’re all doing good up here.
And if the answer’s no, we’ll color that in red.
Alright, so now the next question is, do you have a way to find out the things that you’re unaware, you know? To really tap into the resources you already have? And to make the most of what you’ve already got?
If the answer is yes, let’s color that in green.
If the answer is no, color that in red.
And last but not least, is the things that we’re unaware that we don’t know.
These are blind spots.
Do you have ways to uncover your blind spots?
Do you work with a coach already, who can point out things that you are missing?
Do you have some other personal system that you use to tap into your painful, recurring problems and turn that pain into power?
Or do you just keep on suffering the same problems over and over and over again?
If you have a way to tap into that stuff, great. Let’s color that green.
And if not, let’s color it red.
And the question is, if you’re missing any of this green, then there’s room for improvement.
But the improvements you need to make can be hard to find because the dietary industry is incredibly predatory. If we look at the weight loss pie right here, all this stuff over here, the vast majority of things simply don’t work.
The sliver of the pie that we have left does work. But the problem is it doesn’t work.
Not well enough, let’s say.
The stuff that works that’s sustainable, automatic, flexible, easy and simple. I like to say S.A.F.E. and simple. That stuff generally lies over here.
And the things that you don’t know you don’t know, and the things that you’re unaware that you know, and you’re simply not making the most of what you’ve got.
And that’s what this challenge is designed to help you discover.
Now, if this stuff is so important, why aren’t more people talking about awareness?
To be honest, some of the best most trusted professionals in the field of weight loss are known as dietitians.
Dietitians. NOT “nutritionists.” That’s not a protected term.
A dietitian is the person who has to go to school who is going to be treating people if they’re in an intensive care unit and dealing with their dietary needs.
All right, dietitians will teach you some of these tools, they’re going to sit you down, and they’re going to have you keep a food log. That’s not what we’re doing here. That’s one awareness tool.
There are many, many awareness tools. And that’s just one of them. I’ll show you some tips on how to do that. But it’s much bigger than that.
So actually, the best in the field of weight loss are raising your awareness.
The reason you don’t hear about it more is because all this crap.
First off, raising your awareness is free.
Hence the free challenge, right?
I know I can’t make any money raising your awareness. But I’m going to do it anyway because it’s good for you. And I can prove that I can get results by doing this.
And the second reason, the reason that this is a challenge is because again, you have to do it yourself.
Nobody can give you that self knowledge. We can guide you, but we can’t give it to you and it’s really important to get started. Right now, because weight loss only gets harder with time.
So this is our axis. Time always keeps marching forward. And this is the ease of weight loss.
What happens over time as time goes on, let’s say this is you here today?
Well, it gets harder and harder, right?
And over here we have something called the point of no return. If you wait too long to get started, then you might become disabled, you might have diabetes.
Or as is the case of sadly, too many friends and family members, you die.
Overweight. You never figured it out in your entire lifetime.
And and that shouldn’t happen for anybody. Right?
So if you’re like my man, Adam, you have a little bit of decline. It gets a little bit harder over time. Start getting to be a little closer to middle age and so forth. But you get started. Then you never have too hard of a time getting lean for life. Right?
Small decline, start early, get lean.
But if you’re like a lot of my other clients, maybe it’s been 10 years or 15 years or 30 years, or you’re already past the point of no return…
You’ve lost the ability to walk. You have diabetes. Your vision is going, all right.
Hopefully nobody gets to that point. If you’re at that point, I can’t help you.
That’s the point of no return past which I cannot help you.
But if it’s before that, we can reverse it.
It’s just going to be harder, because more time has passed.
And the trend is the weight keeps going up.
Here’s a scale. Weight keeps on going up on the scale. If that’s the dial, it keeps on moving to the right over time, because time keeps marching on.
So don’t wait 10 years or 15 years or even to the next New Year’s.
The best time to start is NOW.
So to state it simply, there are two problems this challenge is designed to fix.
The first one is to give you that awareness of the things which are currently outside of your awareness. Things that you don’t know you don’t know. Things that you’re unaware that you could be doing that would make all the difference in the world.
So the first thing is to bring things to light. That’s why we call it waking up lean for life.
And we’re going to be doing something every day. So you can look forward to waking up leaner every single day for the rest of your life.
And the second thing is to get started sooner rather than later.
Because it’s easier to get results. And who doesn’t want easy results?
You know, Warren Buffett talks about how people overcomplicate things.
Like the best time to plant a tree right was 20 years ago. The second best time is today. We’ll come back to that again later. Because it’s so important.
So how can we make it easy to start today?
Even if it’s a little thing, how can we start moving for in the right direction, instead of who knows when, when we have all kinds of problems and it becomes far harder than you ever imagined.
So here is how I propose that we do it. This is the outline the structure for the challenge.
If you’ve been following me for a while, if you’ve read lean for life, if you’re in any of my free support groups, then you might be familiar with some of these tools.
And you might be missing something.
So let’s just make sure we’re all on the same page and go over the tools that I’m going to be giving you and then talk about how they fit together in the in terms of the structure for the challenge.
So the first thing we’re going to be talking about your W.A.L.L. This is your winning and learning log. It’s a simple log, we have our wins we have the things that we need to learn from.
There are no failures as long as we learn from things, right?
And then this informs first off and make sure that we’re being consistent with the things that are important. And then it also tells us about opportunities for improvement.
The second thing is your S.T.A.N.D.-Up checklist.
So sleep training, awareness, NEPA and diet. Our W.A.L.L. is going to inform what needs to happen next.
Where are the most painful, recurring problems coming from? What’s the number one thing that’s limiting you right now?
If we start keeping our W.A.L.L. consistently, then we’re going to know exactly what to do. Another little kind of insider tip or kind of almost a trade secret is when dietitians look at people’s food logs. And they, they say, “hey, do you know what’s going on?”
Pretty much 100% of the time when people actually keep a food log. They go, “Yeah, I know what’s going on in terms of diet.”
But knowing isn’t isn’t the same as doing. So you can know what the problems are. But actually knowing how to deal with them, how to make improvements… is a completely different ballgame.
And that’s where, you know, my master’s degree comes in so handy, because most dietitians and so forth are missing that.
So the last piece of the puzzle here is simply this is the journey that most people make and they stopped here.
So they stop here. They’re lean. Let’s see, we call this U.C.I.C. unconscious, conscious, incompetent, competent. We all start off, gaining weight, that’s unconscious competence, and we don’t really think about changing it.
Now, you’re probably watching this video somewhere here or here. You’re either about to start losing weight, you know, you should lose weight, you know, you’ve got some stuff to learn, you know, you have some actions to do. And you’re right here, but you’re not quite sure how to get started. How to make that happen.
Well, that’s what we’re going to help you out with the challenge or if you’re already lean, but you’re still not happy. You know, you lost all that weight, but it’s so damn hard to keep it off. Then you’re in this quadrant, which is where most people stop.
That’s where everyone’s like, “Wow, you’re so successful, good job!”
Where we want to go is not there. Where we want to go is up here. To unconscious competence.
We want to be lean without having to think about it, or work at it. Ever again.
Now Just like anything else, that requires some practice that requires some time that requires some self over here again, awareness. Right?
So those are the those are the kind of the three tools that we’re going to be looking at a lot throughout the challenge. And this is how they all kind of fit together.
The journey to lifelong weight loss is the same for everyone. The reason you’re watching this video is because you already completed the first step, and that was having a realization, you know, you need to lose weight. That’s the realization part.
The next step is action. This is where a lot of you are going to be struggling. Right?
You’re not quite sure what to do. And you want to make sure that you’re doing the right thing in the most efficient manner and all that good stuff. And this is where when we talk about our unawareness, this is where a lot of the answers lie.
So you’re unaware of a few things and we’re going to use that W.A.L.L. that we talked about earlier. So things that you know, don’t know, listen to, you know, things and you’re unaware of them, that W.A.L.L. kind of brings them to light when you start paying attention to the right things, then you start seeing things that you weren’t simply noticing before.
Like, they’re things that you know, but they’re things that really didn’t click. Like, “Oh, this is important!”
Or, “Oh, maybe this needs to change.”
So your W.A.L.L. is going to inform some of that. And for the things that you don’t know, I’m going to help you fill in some knowledge gaps, like we talked about with Adam.
Through some free training, I have a whole bunch of videos about each one of the things that brings improvement. So the in the improvement box, we already talked about that we call this weight loss baseline, and your S.T.A.N.D.-Up checklist.
So essentially, 80% of your weight loss is going to come from these things sleep training, awareness, NEPA, and dietary improvements.
The remaining 20% is going to come from looping through stagnation.
S stands for stagnation.
So we start off with a realization, we start taking some informed actions which we’re going to get from this box. We’re going to start making improvements because we’re improving our sleep training, awareness, NEPA & diet.
And then those improvements are eventually going to lead stagnation. Can’t be helped. There are seven plateaus. So I usually draw them like this.
We have three big problems, four bridges between them. And these are discussed in my book briefly, but these are what I spend the bulk of my time working on with people through coaching.
So we have realization, action improvement, stagnation, and then we loop through each one of these problems. We have more improvements, we stagnate again we loop improve, stagnate, improve, stagnate eventually, evolution.
We get to that spot which we just talked about before. So we have the U.C.I.C. we get up here to unconscious competence. You’re lean for life, and you never have to think about it or worry about it ever again.
And all of the improvements that you’ve made the benefits of those, the better relationships, energy, sex, health, happiness, all that good stuff stays with you for the rest of your days.
In my experience, having lost over 80 pounds myself and kept it off since 2005. And then working with everybody else…
This is the most life changing, transformational thing. It’s the reason I’m doing this as a business because it makes me feel good to do this. And to get paid for it. It’s just, it’s amazing.
I’m making a positive dent in the universe.
And I want to help you get started down that path so that you can enjoy the same results. So you can be like Adam and surprise yourself, like Adam says here, once you help me fill that knowledge gap in then I could really make some additional gains not just in diet, not just an energy.
He started napping he started in his own words, he improved his mental acumen. But he also, he got really friggin strong. This is me over here, making sure that he’s doing some good squat form.
But he had one plate on both sides here, he’s got three, it’s about double body weight. He’s doing them for reps. He just surprised the hell out of himself and had no idea that the small initial improvements could make such a big difference.
And it all started with STARTING.
Action. So remember our point of no return down here, Adam started already in a pretty good place. It wasn’t that hard for him to get started because he didn’t weigh 250 pounds he didn’t weigh 300 pounds he didn’t weigh 400, 500 pounds…
I was talking to a guy the other day weighed 500 pounds. He’s already pretty much past the point of no return for certain things like the best way forward for him probably, although there’s a lot of risk is surgery at this point.
If you weigh 500 pounds, surgery might help but then you still have the whole behavioral change aspect of it. And you know, he’s way too far gone.
Just way too far gone. I can’t really help them at this point.
It’s all for professionals that are way above my pay grade. But if you’re not there yet, it’s much better wherever you’re at as long as you’re before the point of no return to start today.
Today’s actually the easiest point to start.
And we’re going to start with the things that you’re unaware of we’re starting with awareness. Because when we do we know that people who start with awareness lose, on average, TWICE as much weight.
Overall as those who don’t, that’s huge, like so if you’re talking about like the small benefit that you get a for weight loss from a gym session, well, that small benefits going to be doubled.
If we’re talking about the big benefits from changes in diet, well, those big benefits are doubled. All right, overall, we’re going to be getting much better results quicker and easier.
Okay, so we’re starting with awareness.
And then what I’m going to do, like we said, we have the videos here. That’s my lead video box. Alright, so we have our videos, we have our winning and learning log.
So I’m going to give you some tools. I’m going to give you some templates. I’m going to give you some video training. And like we said, the reason nobody else teaches this stuff is because there’s no money in it.
So we’re not going to charge any money for it.
Screw that. And, in addition, the last thing is We’re simply going to make it quick and easy to get started.
Now, I’m giving you a lot of stuff here. So it’s going to take a bit of time, but I’m going to make it probably shorter than this video will be.
In the end, we’re going to make it limited to 15 minutes a day, for the duration of the challenge.
And if you want to keep making progress, it’s going to take you about 2-3 minutes of maintenance per day to keep all those games that’s less than 1% of your day, not even it’s it’s a percent of a percent.
It’s no time at all in order to keep making progress, to keep moving forward and to keep on getting leaner easier than ever.
So, earlier, we said that the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, and the second best time is to start today.
Now I don’t know how long it’s been since you had your Realization. Remember in our R.A.I.S.E. I don’t know how long it’s been since you had that realization here.
Maybe today you had the realization that you need to lose some weight and you luckily found this video.
Or maybe it’s been a few months or a few years or a few decades.
But the best time to start taking action, making improvements and getting closer to your weight loss evolution is TODAY.
Now there’s two kinds of people.
Actually, there’s three kinds. There’s two categories.
We have doers, people who do.
We also have people who dream.
People who just do but do not dream. We call them workers.
They work their whole lives, they never dream much.
Then there are dreamers who do not do. I like to call these people…
Procrasturbators. Right? They dream things, but they never get around to making them happen.
And then the third category, if you know, my website LimitSlayer.com, we have Limit Slayers. People who have dreams and make them happen. There’s always some kind of limits something holding you back from the next level of your personal evolution.
But, whatever that challenge may be, if you’re self aware, and you want to make something happen, you can. And there’s no better time then today to start getting lean for life.
