Are you making the $6,960 mistake made by 94% of dieters in the gym?
It's amazing how fast good intentions can turn into $20,000 down the toilet...
If you feel like you’re wasting too much time on meager results -- there’s a reason.
👉Something’s wrong.
And if you don’t figure out what it is fast, you may spend YEARS spinning your wheels.
OR Worse...
It's easy to waste:
- $20,000 or more
- Countless hours
- Years of effort
⚠️ All for NOTHING.
If this post only helps you avoid this ONE mistake, it's worth your time.
But we’ll also look at how you can get better results, quicker & easier...
WITHOUT falling victim to the weight loss industry’s money-sucking, time-wasting, dream-crushing machine.
The $6,960 Problem
Now, you might be thinking I’m going to talk about supplements...
Like many dieters, I wasted over $10,000 on useless supplements.
But this is even WORSE.
What we’re going to talk about is something I’ve been doing for over 14 years…
CONSISTENTLY.

- 84% of American’s aren’t doing this at all...
- The 16% who are doing this *COULD* have an advantage...
- But 82% aren’t consistent enough to see results.
- And most who are consistent, are doing the wrong things.
- This puts 1% of the US population in the special space where "improvements are possible."
- But EVERYONE ELSE is wasting time, money & effort.
And no small amount...
🔥 I know people who've wasted well over $20,000 and decades of their lives spinning their wheels. Because they don't know what I'm about to share...
Many Ways to Go Wrong
The problem has to do with training... and the many ways people go wrong (all violations of M=TIC, outlined in my latest book).
✅You KNOW training is important for weight loss because it improves nutrient partitioning. And helps you build/spare muscle.
So whether you’re gaining, losing or maintaining weight, it helps you look better.
✅It’s also amazing for health, energy, and confidence.
❌But it doesn't do these automatically...
Problem #1
❌84% of dieters don't have a gym membership.
Problem #2
❌A membership isn't enough.
82% of people with a gym membership show up less than 1x/week.
You don’t train once and get ripped for the rest of your life anymore than you eat once and get full for life. Or sleep once and feel rested for life.
Once a week isn't consistent enough to yield persistent results.
Problem #3
❌Doing "something" isn't enough.
Fully 30% of gym members don't break a sweat.
Half are just walking...
If you're not TRAINING (the "T" in S.T.A.N.D.ing up), you're missing one of the key components in lifelong weight loss.
1% or Wasted
Only 1% of Americans are showing up consistently AND training hard enough to see results.
Everyone else is flushing their hard earned time, money & effort down the toilet.
Are You Ready?
🙄 But does it even make sense to start training yet?
Training takes time.
MORE than you spend IN the gym.
From learning the movements to writing programs. And actually showing up (commute), cleaning up (shower) and doing the work (training).
Training takes time.
It also takes MONEY.
From initiation fees to monthly payments. Gadgets, gear and personal training fees. The costs add up... to about $696/year on average (though most I know pay more).
And then there's the effort...
Instead of using every ounce of willpower to get into the gym after work, you could use it on other things.
So before you even THINK of training, I recommend investing in 🟢GREEN S.A.N.D. first…
🟢GREEN S.A.N.D.

S.A.N.D. stands for:
- Sleep
- Awareness
- NEPA (non-exercise physical activity)
- Diet
And GREEN comes from the traffic light system I use with my clients:
🔴 RED - inconsistent or missing
🟡 YELLOW - between red & green
🟢 GREEN - consistent & sufficient
There's a huge difference between 🔴RED and 🟢GREEN behaviors.
For example, in sleep, you could be a sleep deprived zombie who struggles to get out of bed in the morning. And feels like crap all day. Struggling to think and not kill everyone you meet.
When we see 🔴RED, our goal is to take you from 🔴RED to 🟡YELLOW.
And then 🟡YELLOW to 🟢GREEN.
🟢GREEN is where you get a great night’s sleep. You wake-up before your alarm goes off, refreshed and full of energy for the day. You're able to think, act and relate better.
This improves your quality of life AND helps you lose (or prevent gaining) about 1lb of fat per week.
So if you’d like to spend less money, time & effort to look better...
Go for 🟢GREEN S.A.N.D. before worrying about training.
✅ WHEN YOU'RE READY, A.C.E.
Once your S.A.N.D. is GREEN...
AND you’ve taken advantage of all its quick & easy weight loss wins…
THEN we add training into the equation.
You stop playing in the S.A.N.D. & start S.(T.)A.N.D.ing up.
But not in the way most people think...
Your goal for (T)raining is to find an A.C.E. gym.
A.C.E. stands for:
☑️ Affordable
☑️ Convenient
☑️ Effective
A.C.E. gyms come in 4 tiers...

Tier 4: Fitness Chains 💣
Affordability - TERRIBLE
(with a few notable exceptions)
These range from just enough margin to operate at a profit (and stay in business). To extracting every dollar possible from your wallet...
If you could get lean and leave them, they'd lose profit.
So they advertise smoothie bars, pizza nights & pop discounts as benefits. They give you countless opportunities to fail by your own hand.
And keep giving you a reason to come back (everything EXCEPT the results you want).
Convenience - Varies.
Effectiveness - depends on how you train.
With all the useless equipment and nonsense personal training / classes going on... it's easy to go wrong, and hard to go right.
ASIDE: Classes can be great for NEPA, but rarely fit the bill for training.
🥉 Tier 3: Sport/Performance Center
Affordability - varies
From national sport centers to local powerlifting gyms.
Convenience - varies
Effectiveness - A+
Unlike fitness chains, the future success of the facility depends on producing results. So they're incentivized to help you succeed.
🥈 Tier 2: Community Center
Affordability - A+
You can often find world-class facilities at amazing prices in your area.
My local city center gives me access to all the weights I need, free classes (for fun) multiple times/day, a sauna, jacuzzi, and all kinds of facilities I could use (swimming pool, basketball & tennis courts, batting cages, etc.)...
EVERY day of the week.
It it only costs $31/month - $20 insurance discount = $11/month.
Not bad for a facility which saw over $4.5 million in renovations since 2010 (and millions more to build).
This ridiculous value is possible because everyone contributes to it (through taxes). But only a fraction take advantage of it (like most gym memberships).
Convenience - varies
(but if it's local, it won't be too far)
Effectiveness - varies
(depending on how you use it)
Considering how amazing community centers can be, it's hard to imagine something even better...
🥇 Tier 1: Home Gym 🏆
Affordability - A++
With things like Craigslist & FB Marketplace – you can build a home gym that’ll last for decades for under $1,000. And you can start small (with $200-$300) and add components over time.
Convenience - A++
You don't need to leave home, saving you 10s-100s of hours/year.
Another thing most people miss, is the change in training time available. Instead of needing larger 60-120 minute blocks, you only need 20-30 minutes.
Making it easier to find time.
Effectiveness - this still depends on you.
But with minimal equipment & a distraction-free environment, you can get in a hell of a workout...
WITHOUT having to get psyched up despite KPOP blaring in the background, waiting for the guy to stop curling in the squat rack, or seeing a guy throwing pseudo-karate-kicks in the mirror while he "HEE YAHS!" during your set...
S.A.N.D. ➡️ S.T.A.N.D.
So if you’d like better results, faster:
1️⃣ Go for 🟢GREEN S.A.N.D. first.

Friendly to ANY budget.
Instead of wasting $6,960 on an overpriced membership, you can put this towards coaching... to get EVEN better results - quicker & easier.
OR you can save it for a home gym...
2️⃣ Then, once your S.A.N.D. is GREEN, throw training into the mix by finding or building the best A.C.E. gym you can.
